CITIUS, ALTIUS, FORTIUS

It was so fun to see all the cub scouts at pack meeting!  All of you cub scouts have worked so hard and earned so many awards, it kind of reminded me of the Summer Olympics that we all just recently witnessed.  The Olympic motto: Citius, Altius, Fortius is Latin for "Faster, Higher, Stronger" and these three words encourage the athlete to give his or her best during competition.  Sound familiar?  The cub scout motto is, "Do Your Best".  Giving one's best and striving for personal excellence is a worthwhile goal.  The scouts did a long jump relay and a running relay; one team won the long jump relay, while the other team won the running relay.  So . . . everyone earned a Gold Medal for their efforts.  Way to go!

Leaders & Parents:

There have been inquiries about the Cub Scouts Academic and Sports Program.  This program is a supplemental program that your scout may participate in ON HIS OWN.  This program is not covered by the budget and can be pursued by the scout and his parent(s).  Parents, you can purchase a book at the scout office if you are interested in helping your scout complete even more requirements, however, you will have to buy the belt loops and pins he earns and keep track of and pass off the requirements.  For more information click on the "Cub Scouts Academic and Sports Program" link under the "Leaders' Links" section of this blog.  If you have any questions, give us a call.  Thanks!
